This Rookie Wife began on May 6, 2011, the day before I became a wife. I started blogging as a way to document my first year of marriage, I wrote for myself and my husband.
As this blog and it's readership expanded (beyond my husband as the sole reader!), this space became a creative outlet where I could connect with other women across the globe. I've written about marriage, homemaking, crafting, food, budget management, pregnancy, and now motherhood. I've grown as a woman and a writer, and matured my understanding of what blogging is truly about.
After recently realizing that blogging had became a mini-idol in my life, I decided to take a step back and reconsider what my purpose was as a blogger. What am I here to do? What are my goals, and my purpose in writing and sharing, sometimes intimate details of my life?
In the end, I decided that my purpose was to bring glory to Christ, and point others to Him. To show myself as a raw and real human beings, with faults and deep scars of my own.
TRW is here to stay, but it is a very different blog today. From personal journal, to idol, to joy and ministry. I pray that you join us in growing deeper in your faith and knowledge with who we truly are as individuals, created by a complex and wonderful God.
